Christmas Food Drive
We're setting up a free pop-up Good Grocer at the Altru Christmas Festival, where around 200 guests doing it tough can choose groceries for themselves. We'd love your help filling the shelves.
Donations in by Friday 28 November
Step 1
Buy in bulk
Instead of one of everything, choose an item and buy 10 or more of it. It helps us stock the shelves properly and gives every guest the same great choices. The more the better!
Step 2
Pick from the list
Quick, no-kitchen meals
- Cup noodles
- Instant porridge cups
- Tuna or salmon pouches
- Ring-pull baked beans, spaghetti or soup
- Muesli bars
- Up&Go or breakfast drinks
- Crackers, nuts or trail mix (small packs)
- Fruit cups and jelly cups
- Long-life milk poppers and juice boxes
Pantry staples
- Pasta
- Pasta sauce in pouches or plastic jars
- Rice (1 kg bags) or microwave rice cups
- Breakfast cereal and Weet-Bix
- Oats
- Long-life milk (1 L)
- Tinned vegetables, chickpeas or lentils
- Ring-pull tinned fruit
- Tea, coffee sachets and Milo
A little Christmas joy
- Shortbread
- Candy canes
- Christmas cake or mini puddings
- Long-life custard
- Lollies
Personal care and extras
- Men's deodorant (much needed)
- Women's deodorant
- Wet wipes
- Sunscreen and lip balm
- Hand sanitiser
- Pet food (for guests with pets)
Please avoid: glass jars, tins that need a can opener, anything perishable, opened or expired, and chocolate (it melts in a Brisbane December).
