Altru is a charity redefining how society addresses social inequality. With an all-volunteer team and a 0% admin model, every dollar contributed goes directly into delivering measurable impact.

Our intention is to move awareness into action. Through our annual free outreach Altru Festival, we provide immediate, onsite access to essential services for people facing hardship. The event is a vibrant blend of music, connection, health services, job opportunities, and festival fun, a day to belong and celebrate the human beyond their adversity. Each guest is paired with a volunteer tour guide, forming meaningful connections designed to result in lasting change.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a family-friendly, dry event. Rules of entry apply to both guests and volunteers to ensure a fun and safe environment.

Volunteer FAQ

  • No experience is required. You’ll receive guidance and clear instructions, and our team will be there to support you on the day.

  • Yes. You’ll receive a confirmation email after registering, followed by volunteer induction emails and details about an online information session closer to the event.

  • Yes. You’ll be able to select your preferred volunteer area when signing up. Some roles have limited spots and will close once filled.

  • If your availability changes, please let us know by emailing us at volunteer@wearealtru.com as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to another volunteer.

  • Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that is comfortable, respectful, and sun-safe.

  • Absolutely. Each volunteer must register individually using the form.
